COVID-19 cases are rising all over the world, including Brookline. While more difficult than ever, it is more important than ever to follow safe COVID-19 protocols.  The current Massachusetts guidelines:

  • Require face masks or cloth face coverings be worn in all public places, whether indoors or outdoors, even when you are maintaining 6 feet of distance from others.
  • This requirement includes your teen(s) or young adult(s).  Masks must be worn at all times when a group is playing basketball, sitting under a tree, on a front porch, in a basement, bedroom,  living room or anywhere else, inside or outside.
  • If your student is hybrid and scheduled for an in-person day, but does not go into BHS that day,  you must email or call the appropriate secretary to notify the school why your student is not in person.
The BHS administration has worked hard to make  the shifts from hybrid to fully remote learning seamless for BHS students.  In turn, BHS families can work hard to adhere to  current COVID-19 protocols.

This Week at BHS

REGISTER FOR BHS WINTER SPORTS

BHS Winter Sports registration is now open at this link.  We are operating on a compressed timeline and encourage participants to register ASAP.  Also, a reminder to athletes and families that physicals must be within 13 months current and the best method for expediting athlete clearance is to upload a copy of the physical exam form in the "Participant Information" section of the FamilyID registration.
Payment will not be due until rosters are settled.  There is no online payment option at this time.

REMINDER: BE CAUTIOUS WITH TEEN GATHERINGS

Anecdotally, we are hearing of many teen/young adult parties and sports gatherings in Brookline, often without masks and with parental consent. As we head into the holiday season and in light of ongoing health agency warnings reiterating the dangers of COVID spread via gatherings -- often in private homes – parents are urged to reinforce safety messages and set limits for their teens and young adults. B-PEN offers some strategies for helping families through this. And for the latest parenting news and information, check out our facebook page.
