Congratulations to Board Member Michelle Landrum

On June 23, 2019, ADHA Recognized Head Start National Center for Early Childhood Health and Wellness (NCECHW) Dental Hygiene Liaisons (DHL) with the Presidential Citation.  Michelle Landrum, dental hygienist liaison (DHL) project lead coordinator, accepted the award on behalf of DHLs nationwide at ADHA’s annual conference  in Louisville, KY. The citation acknowledges exemplary contributions to ADHA and the dental hygiene profession. The DHL project is a partnership between the NCECHW and ADHA. Under the DHL project, one dental hygienist from each state volunteers to help promote oral health for pregnant women and children enrolled in Head Start and children enrolled in childcare. OHRC and the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors coordinate all of the oral health activities of NCECHW including the DHL project.

To continue Ms. Landrum's winning streak, Michelle was pleased to accept the Premier AeroPro™ Cordless Prophy Handpiece on behalf of Austin Community College as the winner of the Midwest Collaborative Stakeholder Initiative drawing during the TxOHC annual meeting.

This is the second year in a row that Austin Community College won the Midwest drawing.  Congratulations, your new cordless prophy handpiece will go nicely with the Portable TPC Unit you won last year from Midwest Dental Equipment and Supply.

In case you were wondering, TxOHC membership has its perks and it pays to be present to win.

To complete Ms. Landrum's summer, Michelle was also recently appointed interim director of the Austin Community College Dental Hygiene Program.  Thank you, Michelle, for your service and support as a Coalition member.
