2016 Oral Health Summit Highlights

Our many thanks to all who attended the 2016 Texas Oral Health Summit, November 4-5, 2016 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Austin, TX.
What attendees are saying about the 2016 Summit:

Dr. Maples was superb. A charming mix of Tony Robbins and Suze Orman.

Edie Gibson's presentation underscored with her sincere desire to make a positive difference challenged me to be more responsive to substance abusers.

I really enjoyed the speakers, especially Dr. Maples. Very [high] quality with great information. I appreciated the healthy food options.

TxOHC Partners with Morningside Ministries
and mmLearn.org

TxOHC was pleased to partner with mmLearn.org, a web-based program to provide quality, consistent caregiver training, in the creation and distribution of an oral health care video. Since its inception in 2007, mmLearn.org has produced over 300 web-based caregiver training videos and has grown from a local service for Morningside employees to providing much needed training to caregivers around the world.

Daily mouth care should not stop because a person has missing teeth, in fact, taking care of dentures in the mouth is just as important as brushing natural teeth on a daily basis. This video covers:

  • The Importance of Oral Health
  • Denture Care Protocol
  • Infection Control
  • Identifying Visible Mouth or Denture Problems
  • Supplies and Steps to Denture Care and Cleaning.

While this video is being presented to CNA's in a health care facility - this information is relevant to anyone responsible for the oral care of another.
