20 mph speed limit consultation Tring

The e-mail address for sending support was wrong before.  It should be

Before 30th January, if you support 20 mph speed limit for all roads in west of Tring and part of Tring central please say so, and why, to

Reasons why might include:
  • saves lives (fatality risk to pedestrians at 20 mph = 1%; at 30 mph = 8%)
  • saves fuel
  • reduces air pollution
"Why should I bother?"
Because it needs 3 out of 5 respondents to be in favour of the proposal for 20 mph restrictions to be introduced, even though the consultation notice does not make this clear!

"So, will there be speed humps everywhere?"
No, only on Christchurch Road which has a lot of children crossing it every school day, and has a higher average speed of traffic.  Here there will be 5 low profile, sloped "humps" (very similar to those on the High Street)

"More info?"
