Tring Edible Woodland at Bulbourne
Would you be interested in joining this exciting new project?
We are starting an exciting new community project on the unused part of Bulbourne allotments. The land was allocated to us by Tring Town Council, after discussions with the Dacorum Local Food Initiative.
We’re mulching the land with wood chip and cardboard. We’ve already started work and are now in a position to hold larger working parties. The work consists of dismantling cardboard boxes, raking, barrowing. Wood chip is very light, so it’s not hard work. If you can only spare an hour, it would be a great help. Tring in Transition will be working with the local Permaculture group http://permaculturecinema.co.ukwww.permaculture.org.uk to create an ‘edible woodland’. The aim is to mimic nature by creating a small woodland, but with all of the trees, shrubs and perennial plants producing a crop. The main tree planting session will take place during Tring’s Own Apple Fayre in October.
See our website for more information, or please email us if you would be interested in joining in.
