Greetings from Selah Downtown Association

Welcome back downtown!

With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, I must say we sure are feeling LUCKY here at SDA. The month of February brought a lot of excitement to downtown Selah, and all of us were blown away by the energy and enthusiasm that surrounded last month's 2nd Saturday events on February 11th.

We look forward to carrying that momentum into March as this month brings even more fun and activities to our downtown. We're kicking things off early this month with a special Happy Hour Social, on March 1st, for all our local young professionals and Millennials!

The next Business Academy educational session for small business owners is scheduled for March 7th, and 2nd Saturday is back on March 11th. I encourage your involvement in these events! And for anyone interested in learning more about SDA and our plans for downtown Selah, please join us at our next board meeting on March 13th, starting at 3 PM, at City Hall.

Keep reading for more about these upcoming events. And as always, I hope to see you downtown!

Whitney Stohr
Executive Director

"The Roundtable: Business Academy" continues Mar. 7

The Roundtable: Business Academy continues this month with a session on Tuesday, March 7th and the topic: Going Virtual: Social Media & Online Marketing.

This month's session will feature speaker Kari Gravrock, an Account Executive at Townquare Media in Yakima. Townsquare is a website platform with services that include website design, marketing and promotional deals. Kari's presentation will provide helpful advice to small business owners looking to expand their online media presence. Local business owner, Rachael Glaspie from Selah Allstate, will also speak about her strategy for social media engagement.

SDA's Business Academy is FREE and open to the public, and all new and aspiring business owners are encouraged to attend. The sessions are also a great opportunity for current business owners to network and learn new skills.

The monthly sessions are held the 1st Tuesday of the month, from 7:30 to 8:30 am, at Nana Kate's restaurant, located at 432 E. Goodlander Rd., in Selah. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
