Lisanne Lazarus

TROPIKA ISLAND OF TREASURE WINNER TO GRADUATE AT DUT

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) graduand, Lisanne Lazarus has two big reasons to celebrate, one of them is her triumphant heroics in the SABC 3 reality show Tropika Island of Treasure, which landed her half a million rands as the ultimate winner.

The second one is that she will be graduating with a National Diploma in Journalism from DUT on 11 May 2018 at Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus, Durban, achieving the Dean’s Merit award for her excellent academic results.

FOAD TO HOST 2017 EMMA SMITH ART SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Faculty of Arts & Design will host its annual Emma Smith Art Award Scholarship where art students will complete for the R50 000 scholarship.

The award ceremony and opening exhibition will take place on 14 May 2018 at 6pm at DUT City Campus’ Arthur Smith Hall and the exhibition will be on open view until 15 May 2018 at the campus.

PEACE OASIS INTERNATIONAL LAUNCHES ‘STOP THE HUNGER PROGRAMME’

Peace Oasis International is an NPO ,registered with the Department of Social Development in South Africa. It came out of the Peace Building programme at the Durban University of Technology. Its vision is to create peaceful and united communities through tangible interventions as peace is a practical tenet. Peace Oasis International(POI) launched ‘the stop the hunger programme’ at Walsingham residence at DUT on the 5th of May 2018.

The organisation has grown and the ways in which it seeks to end hunger continue to evolve as one of its’ tangibles.

Thokozani Nkosi

NKOSI’S AMBITION CHANGES GEARS FROM A TRUCK DRIVER TO A CA

Thokozani Nkosi’s ambition was once to become a truck driver when he was still attending school in the rural village of Matiwane in Ladysmith.
