TWO INTERNATIONAL AWARDS FOR DUT PUBLIC MANAGEMENT DOCTORAL STUDENT
Olayemi Bakre, a doctoral candidate at the Durban University of Technology’s Department of Public Management, has bagged two awards for his presentation called “Mitigating the vulnerability of subsistence farmers through groundwater optimisation.”
Bakre was the recipient of the sessions Best Presentation and Best Student award during the recent International Conference on Economics and Development in Colombia, South America.
DUT DRAMA STUDENT AND FORMER LECTURER HONOURED AT AWARDS
The Durban University of Technology’s third year Drama Production studies student, Ayanda Mngoma and former DUT lecturer Dr Mikhail Peppas, both walked away with awards during the fifth Simon Mabhunu Sabela Film and Television Awards last Saturday (15 July 2017).
The awards, which are hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission and KZN Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, were held at the iconic Durban Playhouse.
DUT STAFF SOCCER TEAM VICTORIOUS AGAINST KING HINTSA TVET
The Durban University of Technology’s soccer team was victorious during the University staff sports tournament held at the Mangosuthu University of Technology on Saturday (15 July 2017).
At the tournament, DUT beat King Hintsa TVET and drew against MUT. The tournament was attended by the University of Zululand, Walter Sisulu University, King Hintsa TVET, CCBSA Coastal FC, Nedbank (Umlazi Branch) FC and Uzalo.
