DUT TO CONFER HONORARY DOCTORATE TO DR ANDREW MLANGENI
The Durban University of Technology (DUT), Faculty of Arts and Design will honour struggle icon and former member of parliament, Dr Andrew Mlangeni, with an Honorary Doctor of Education on Thursday 26 April 2018 at DUT’s FJ Sithole Hall, Indumiso Campus in Pietermaritzburg.
Mlangeni’s contribution to the liberation of South Africa is well documented, as he was harassed and imprisoned for standing up against the might of the apartheid government.
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) continues to be a leader in pioneering and inculcating academic excellence within the ranks of its Student Representative Council (SRC) leaders.
History will be recorded when eight SRC leaders from both the Durban and Pietermaritzburg campuses are conferred with their qualifications during the upcoming Autumn Graduation ceremonies (25 and 26 April 2018 for Pietermaritzburg) and (07 to 14 May 2018 in Durban).
PROF LAZARUS IS CONFERRED AS ONE OF THE ‘50 MOST IMPACTFUL GREEN LEADERS’
Being recognised as one of the most impactful green leaders globally is an accolade that was recently awarded to the Durban University of Technology’s Professor Ian Lazarus.
Prof Lazarus, DUT’s passionate energy driver was conferred as one of the ‘50 Most Impactful Green Leaders (Global Listing)’, celebrating achievements in Sustainable Energy Development Goals.
DUT STUDENTS REDEFINING FASHION AT THE SA FASHION WEEK
The Durban University of Technology’s (DUT), Department of Fashion and Textiles 3rd year students, left a remarkable mark when they showcased their aesthetic garments at the annual South Africa Fashion Week (SAFW) at Protea Court, Sandton City in Johannesburg last week.
According to DUT Department of Fashion and Textiles, Creative Lecturer, Gideon who was part of Team DUT, the garments were selected from the highlights of the top 10 students from 2017.
Developing partnerships with other universities internationally is one of the aims of the Directorate: International Education and Partnerships (IEP).
The International Education and Partnerships (IEP) office was established to support the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in its drive towards becoming a globally positioned University of Technology.
DUT AND EDU HOST SUCCESSFUL MACHINE LEARNING COURSE
Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Information Technology (IT) Department in partnership with the Enterprise Development Unit (EDU) hosted an Introduction to Machine learning course.
The training course was free and successful with 60 DUT and former DUT students in attendance for the four sessions, every Saturday, for a month.
