A GOOD START FOR THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIPS AT DUT
To signal the start of the much awaited South African National Universities Debating Championships (SANUDC), the opening function was hosted on Tuesday, 03 July 2018 at DUT’s Mansfield Hall to welcome participating debaters.
Celebrated under the theme “Ready to Inspire”, this year’s tournament aims to create a unified generation of individuals- whose knowledge and skills are leaned towards social development.
Delegates at the 7th Annual Green Campuses Conference are departing (Thursday), 05 July 2018 in high spirits and determined to drive the ‘green’ agenda in their respective universities.
The symposium, which began on Sunday 01 July, addressed issues of Land and Marine Pollution such as waste management on campuses and sustainable development at universities.
The Durban University of Technology’s Nursing Department recently held a first year students’ parents meeting at the Indumiso Campus.
The last parents meeting was held in 2012, however, the team at the Nursing Department saw a need to revive these annual parents meeting with first year students parents in order to help parents to understand their children’s journeys and to further assist with academic development of students.
JEWELLERY DESIGN STUDENTS SHOWCASE THEIR WORK AT INDRA CONGRESS
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Jewellery Design students showcased their isiShweshwe and isiNdebele inspired jewellery during the official opening of the International Youth Indra Congress on Monday, 02 July 2018 at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Howard College.
This Congress is hosted by ARROWSA, UKZN and DUT under the theme, ‘Pathways’. It is billed to be a six-day arts for social change extravaganza from Monday, 02 to Saturday, 07 July 2018, and it will feature various workshops and artistic showcases.
