IT’S ABU DHABI FOR DUT HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT STUDENTS
Two third-year students from the Durban University’s Hospitality Management Programme are set to jet off to Abu Dhabi on Friday, 17 February 2017, on an exciting six-month internship.
Nosipho Gumbi and Obey Maponga underwent a stringent interview process, which included a Skype interview, in order to qualify for the internship at five star Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas which is situated on a private beach on Saadiyat Island.
This year (2017), the Durban University of Technology welcomed just over 7000 new first year students to its seven campuses.
Excited about their first week at the University- whose mission is to excel through a teaching and learning environment that values and supports the university community, promoting excellence in learning and teaching, technology transfer and applied research as well as external engagement that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship through collaboration and partnership
Encouraging cross-faculty networking and reflecting on the nature of academic work and research was the aim of Durban University of Technology’s (DUT) annual Postgraduate Conference which took place at Coastlands on the Ridge Hotel.
Organised by the Faculty of Arts and Design, the goal of the two day conference was to present a range of postgraduate research conducted across all faculties at DUT and other African universities, and to reflect on the nature of academic work and research.
