The Durban University of Technology (DUT), Sports Officer, Michael Mbatha who is also a National Executive Committee member for University Sports South Africa (USSA), has been selected as one of four delegates to represent South Africa in the upcoming International University Sports Federation (FISU) Forum, which will be held from 06 to 10 August 2018 in Russia.
The main theme of the FISU Forum is, “Student sport – springboard for innovative leadership”.

The Durban University of Technology Midlands Entrepreneurship Centre and Student Desk, in conjunction with the University Green Campus Initiative (GCI), Msunduzi Municipality, Local Councillor and Local Community Members on Wednesday, 11 July 2018 launched the Cleanup Campaign.
The DUT Midlands Entrepreneurship Centre & Student Desk under the office of DVC: Research, Innovation and Engagement, Professor Sibusiso Moyo will jointly work with the local community surrounding the Indumiso campus and Msunduzi Municipality..
DUT IS ONE OF ONLY THREE INSTITUTIONS TO OFFER CLOUD COMPUTING SKILLS IN SOUTH AFRICA
The Durban University of Technology’s Nursing Department recently held a first year students’ parents meeting at the Indumiso Campus.
The last parents meeting was held in 2012, however, the team at the Nursing Department saw a need to revive these annual parents meeting with first year students parents in order to help parents to understand their children’s journeys and to further assist with academic development of students.
INTERNATIONAL SCHOLAR TO DELIVER THE ANNUAL DR RICHARD MAPONYA LECTURE
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) in partnership with the Dr Richard Maponya Institute for Skills and Entrepreneurship Development, will host the annual Dr Richard Maponya Lecture on Entrepreneurship at 18H30 at the Ritson Exam Auditorium, Ritson Campus, on Tuesday, 17 July 2018.
The lecture will be delivered by the internationally acclaimed engineer, educator and leader, Professor Feridun Hamdullahpur, who is the President of the University of Waterloo, in Canada.
DUT STUDENTS DOMINATE VDJ YOUNG DESIGNER AWARD AGAIN!
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Fashion and Textiles students once again dominated the Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Award presented by Durban Fashion Fair on Saturday, 07 July 2018 at the Greyville Racecourse, as three DUT students clinched the top three spots for a second successive year.
The Greyville Racecourse played host to the thrilling climax of the gruelling three month build-up to the Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Award and DUT’s Georgina Brink walked away with the coveted award.
