PROF MOYO SCORES FIRST CLASS HONOURS FOR HER MASTER’S


Professor Sibusiso Moyo, Director for Research and Postgraduate Support at DUT and current Vice-President for Research Management on SARIMA (Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association) recently completed her Master’s degree in Tertiary Education Management with First Class Honours at the University of Melbourne.

Prof Moyo has a PhD in Mathematics.

Zulu, who hails from rural Nongoma’s Mandlakazi area is a third year Biomedical Technology student. Although his career path is different from his love of radio, the ambitious DJ still finds time to juggle his studies and radio.

FINE ART MASTER’S STUDENT WINS EMMA SMITH AWARD


Actively expressing his concerns around issues of gender has landed DUT’s Sinethemba Ngubane a win in the 2015 Emma Smith Art Scholarship Award.

Ngubane, a Fine Art Master’s student, walked away with a R50 000 prize after being announced the winner of the award during a ceremony recently held at the University’s Arthur Smith Hall, City Campus.

DUT’s campus radio: RadioDUT, is currently in search for hot, new talent to join its line-up of radio presenters.

To date, 80 percent of the radio station’s presenters have in the last two years moved onto presenting at major local commercial radio stations such as East Coast Radio, Gagasi, Kwezi and Inanda FM.

PREPARING FIRST YEAR STUDENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION


The Department of Student Governance at DUT recently hosted its first orientation for 2016’s first year students at the University’s Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus.

The orientation was not only aimed at welcoming first years to the University but also a platform to provide happy and quality transitional experiences that will stay in the hearts of the students throughout their time at the Durban University of Technology.
