MEET DR JOHN VOLMINK, INTERIM DUT VICE-CHANCELLOR


This week (Tuesday, 03 May 2015), Dr John Volmink assumed his duties as acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal at DUT.

Dr Volmink’s appointment was effective as from 1 May 2016 for an initial period of three months and may be extended depending on when the permanent Vice-Chancellor and Principal assumes office.

DUT HOSTS RICHARD MAPONYA PROVINCIAL ANNUAL LECTURE


The Durban University of Technology will host the Richard Maponya Provincial Annual Lecture, KwaZulu-Natal, on Monday, 9 May 2016.

The Lecture will be held at the Ritson Exam Hall, DUT Ritson Campus.

Professor Thandwa Mthembu, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Central University of Technology, will deliver the keynote address.

The Durban University of Technology held a celebratory dinner at the Durban ICC in honour of Dr Ahmed Kathrada, on Friday, 22 April 2016.

The gala dinner, which was held to celebrate the honorary doctorate which was conferred to Ahmed Kathrada, for his contribution to literature.

PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY


The DUT Green Campus Initiative hosted a dialogue to promote and encourage environmental sustainability in communities and amongst students.

In creating platforms of engagement that enhance innovation and entrepreneurship through collaboration and partnership, the Initiative invited a variety of guests to contribute and share their knowledge as to how they are practising a green lifestyle in their daily lives.
