PROF ROSS WINS PRESTIGIOUS MEDSCAPE INDIA 2019 AWARD
Making the Durban University of Technology (DUT) proud is the respected Professor Ashley Ross, who was honoured in October 2019 as the winner of the prestigious MedscapeIndia 2019 Award for Excellence in Homoeopathy.
He was bestowed the major accolade at the 8th Medscape India National Awards, dedicated to ‘Save the Girl Child’ and ‘Women’s Empowerment’, at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) International Convention Hall in Mumbai.

Some of the key success factors for a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) role, in any organisation include, a sound business acumen, keen stakeholder expectations management, and the ability to swing risk-related conversations away from the technical space and more towards simplicity or practicality. The appetite for understanding risks from the perspective of the various role players in the respective portfolios – faculties, ITSS communications and marketing, HR, OHS, etc. – is a basic point of departure or licence to practice for a CRO.
PROFESSOR BAWA PRESENTS ON THE 2020 OPEN ACCESS MODEL
Former Durban University of Technology’s (DUT) Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Ahmed Bawa led an open lecture on the 2020 Open Access Model under the title: A Journey Towards Open Access to Scholarly Journals: towards transformative agreements, which was held at the DUT Hotel School and Conference, Ritson Campus on Monday, 21 October 2019.
Open Access refers to the practice of making peer-reviewed scholarly research and literature freely available online to anyone interested in reading it.
