DUT FORMS STRATEGIC SPORTS PARTNERSHIP WITH SHARKS ACADEMY


DUT’s Sports Studies Department has embarked on an exciting, new 12 month sports programme in partnership with the Sharks Rugby Academy for this year (2016).

The Sharks Academy is a world-class rugby academy which is accredited by SA Rugby and backed by a strategic partnership with the Sharks.

Everyone is bound to experience stress in their daily lives in today’s fast paced world, but there is a difference in how each individual handles the pressures of life.

Some people opt to unwind by going to the gym or listening to soothing music. In the case of DUT’s Marí Peté, an e-Learning specialist from the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), she writes poetry.

CURBING GENDER BASED VIOLENCE


Looking at strategies on how to address gender based violence at DUT was the aim of the two-day Gender Forum Strategy Planning Workshop which took place in Durban recently.

The DUT Gender Forum is a long standing non-profit organisation operating on the DUT campus. One of its main objectives is to raise awareness about gender based violence and to provide advice and support to victims of this crime.

RadioDUT had the magical honour of hosting renowned South African magician Mo Magic on the popular lunchtime show: Lunch with the Girls yesterday (4 February 2016).

Born Mohammed Moorad, Mo Magic he is a qualified engineer who gave up his engineering job to pursue a career in magic from 2010.
