DUT’S ANNUAL OPEN WEEK WELCOMES PUPILS FROM KWAZULU-NATAL
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is hosting its annual Open Week at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko campus from 16 to 18 May 2018. There are 12 schools from all over KwaZulu-Natal that has been invited to attend this event which aims to educate and provide guidelines for the pupils in making their career choices.
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Nursing Department hosted the annual International Nurses Day on 11 May 2018 at BC0216, Steve Biko Library Complex, Steve Biko Campus to commemorate this significant day within the nursing profession under the theme, “The Right to Health”.
The DUT Nursing Department took a decision last year, 2017 that it is going to observe this day annually. This year they hosted Professor Anne Matthews from the Dublin City University’s School of Nursing & Human Sciences as the Guest Speaker.
Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Fashion and Textiles student Tayla Horn was named the Emma Smith Scholarship winner at an award ceremony held at the DUT City Campus, this week.
The Faculty of Arts & Design hosted its annual Emma Smith Art Award Scholarship where nine art students competed for the R50 000 Scholarship prize.
FIRST STUDENT TO OBTAIN PHD VIA THE PUBLICATION ROUTE AT DUT
A first for the Durban University of Technology (DUT), as Dr Isaac Amoah obtains his Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Health Science through the publication route.

CATCH THE RIVETING DOUBLE- BILL PRODUCTION AT DUT COURTYARD THEATRE
Theatre enthusiasts are encouraged to come along to the DUT Drama Studies Elliot Zondi’s double- bill production called Insumansumane (An Unbelievable Story) and Ukufa kukaShaka (The Death of King Shaka Zulu). The production is showcasing until 18 May 2018 at DUT’s Courtyard Theatre.
The double-bill production DUT cast includes Thokozane Ngcongo, Simphiwe Msomi, Seani Tshisikhawe, Mzamo Cele, Angel Dlamini and Sphamandla Gazu..
