DUT AND FAFU HOSTS FIFTH MEETING OF THE SECOND BOARD OF ADVISERS OF THE CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) currently hosts the Confucius Institute (CI) and on, 7 December 2018, the fifth meeting of the Second Board of Advisers of the Confucius Institute was held at the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU) in China.
The meeting was co-chaired by Professor Thandwa Mthembu, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of DUT and Professor Zheng Baodong, Vice-President of FAFU.
FINAL YEAR NURSING STUDENTS MAKE THEIR PLEDGE TO THE PROFESSION
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) final year Nursing students pledged their full commitment to the nursing profession during the Lamp-Lighting and Nurses Pledge Ceremony held at DUT’s Indumiso Campus on Tuesday, 11 December 2018.
This significant ceremony hosted by DUT’s Nursing Department marked the culmination of the student’s academic journey and the dawn of their professional careers as nurses.
PROVINCIAL HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEMS COMMITTEE MEETS AT DUT
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health’s Provincial Health Information Systems Committee (PHISC) had its inaugural meeting which was hosted by the Durban University of Technology (DUT) last Wednesday, 5 December 2018. The committee is mandated by the National Health Act.
In attendance at the meeting were Dr Elizabeth Lutge, Dr Colin Thakur, Jack Govender, Jabulani Tembe, Nhlanhla Ngomane, Dr Vuma Magaqa and Gcina Radebe.
PROFESSOR THANDWA MTHEMBU RECEIVES CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE AWARD
The 13th Confucius Institute Conference was held at the Century City International Conference Centre in Chengdu, China from 4 to 5 December 2018. DUT CELEBRATES STAFF, STUDENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL EXCELLENCE
The Durban University of Technology (DUT) staff, students and entrepreneurs were honoured during the 2018 Annual Staff, Research and Innovation awards ceremony that was held at the Hilton Hotel recently.
The awards ceremony was attended by DUT administrative, academic staff, students as well as former and current students that have embarked on the journey of being entrepreneurs.
The Tertiary Education National Union of South Africa (TENUSA) launched its Mangosuthu University of Technology TENUSA Branch last Friday, 7 December 2018 at the Kingsmead Cricket Stadium.
TENUSA was initiated after the merger of the ex-ML Sultan Technikon and Technikon Natal around 1999 considering the changing landscape in Higher Education. Various discussions about forming a single union in the Higher Education Sector to unite the employees had taken place.
