The Maaya Fund is an assistance fund for artistic creation. Its aim is to help artists in their creation, and improve their working conditions through credit and solidarity. This fund is an initiative of KYA Network with the financial support of the DOEN Foundation in the Netherlands. After the first two phases that are going well and that have allowed beneficiaries to restart their different activities, recipients of the third phase just received their funds...

KYA NETWORK// General Assembly

The first General Assembly of KYA Network in 2015 was held on May 3rd, 2015 at the Centre Soleil d'Afrique of Bamako. This meeting was an opportunity to talk about the 2014 activities and to program the 2015 activities of KYA Network. Important resolutions were taken during this meeting, including the imminent realization of the Cultural Mapping of Mali.

 Guimba national Theatre Days

The Theatre Days initiated by the famous Malian actor Habib Dembélé aka Guimba National were held in Bamako from April 29 to May 3rd, 2015. According to the initiator "the purpose of Guimba National Theatre Days is to awaken in people the attention they had for theater, but that is dying today. So that the authorities and the Malian people realize what  theater has done in Mali. We cannot simply reduce theater to humor and sketch awareness."
Sélingué International Festival - 2015

The 4th edition of Sélingué International  Festival was held from May 1st to 3rd, 2015 in Sélingué. This festival that gives great importance to urban music and fashion took place this year under the sign of culture as a factor of national reconciliation. In the program, there were giant concerts, fashion shows, a craft and agricultural exhibition, conferences, etc.

A new space for the promotion of visual arts is now open in Bamako, it is the Atelier Badialan 1. This is an initiative of the visual artist Amadou Sanogo, who for the occasion has gathered around him artists from Mali and Burkina Faso. The opening ceremony of the space has led to the prvate view of the works from the creative workshop organized by Amadou Sanogo and his friends ...
Kôrè Institute of Arts & Professions (IKAM) /  Kôrè Cultural Centre of Ségou // Training on Cultural Entrepreneurship

From May 6 to 8, 2015 was held in Ségou a training session on Cultural Entrepreneurship. This training, which is part of the IKAM program of activities, gathered over twenty participants. Among the modules offered, we had modules on Maaya entrepreneurship or sustainable entrepreneurship, stage management, research of funding, etc. The trainers were: Luc Mayitoukou (Zhu Culture, Senegal), Léonard Yakanou (Artfrica Consulting, Togo) and Mamou Daffé (IKAM, Mali).
ACTE SEPT // Conference

As part of its program of activities, the Cultural Association Acte Sept organizes monthly conferences within its headquarters. This Saturday, May 23, 2015, Acte Sept invited Moussa Mara (former Prime Minister of Mali) around the theme of "secularism," a topical theme with regard to the current situation of our country. The debates were very prolific and informative.
BALANI'S // 2015 Kalan Kadi Festival
The 5th International Festival of Youth Literature, called Kalan Kadi took place from May 19 to 23, 2015 in Bamako. The theme of the 2015 edition was: "How to reset the great kingdoms and epics in the youth literature?". The festival was made up of exhibitions, workshops, entertainment, storytelling, film screenings, etc. It was an opportunity to show the Malian audience, for the first time, the animated film Sundiata Keita, the rise of the lion by the Ivorian director Abel Kouamé.
SMARTS Ségou // Casting of the "Talents de la Cité"  competition - 2015

The casting for the 9th national art, music and braid competition, called "Talents de la Cité" started on May 16, 2015 in the Kayes region. The casting will also cover the regions of Mopti, Ségou, Sikasso and the Bamako District. The winners of each region in the various disciplines will compete in the grand final on June 6, 2015 in Ségou. "Talents de la Cité" is an initiative of the association SMARTS Ségou, in partnership with the Foundation Festival sur le Niger, DOEN Foundation and  KYA Network.
International Festival of the Rails of Kayes (FIRKA 2015)

The 6th edition of the International Festival of the Rails of Kayes (FIRKA) took place from May 23 to 24, 2015 in the city of the rails (Kayes). On the program there were lectures, fairs, entertainments, tours and giant concerts with artists from Mali and the sub region.
Cultural Heritage National Days // Department of Culture - DNPC

The Cultural Heritage National Days of Mali organized by the Department of Culture, Handicrafts and Tourism through the National Direction of Cultural Heritage were held this year from May 28 to 29, 2015 in Ouéléssébougou. The 2015 theme was "Cultural Heritage and Local Development: Place and role of communities in the management, conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage". On the program, there were lectures, visits of sites and monuments, a private view, a craft exhibition and a cultural party.

- Université de Vacances  (Holidays University ) orgaized by the  WALAHA Group, from June 25 to July 30, 2015

- The Bamako Encounters,  10th edition, from October 31st to December 31st, 2015 in Bamako

- Arterial Network, African Creative Economy Conference (Cameroon) from October 9 to 10, 2015
