On Thursday, July 23, 2015 was held the first of a series of professional meetings around the theme: "Where are we with the Visual Arts? » at the Palais de la Culture Amadou Hampaté BA of Bamako. The organization of this series of professional meetings is part of elaboration process of the Cultural Mapping in Mali, a project initiated by the KYA Network, which seeks to identify actors, goods and cultural services across the territory with an analysis of the sectors and the general functioning of the cultural sector in Mali. Thus, the recommendations of the various professional meetings by sector will be published in December 2015.

 2015 Holidays' University in Ségou / WALAHA

The Walaha is a group of young specialists from several disciplines around the arts, culture, media and communication. Since its inception, its main objective is to develop local skills to promote culture as a vector of development. Walaha recently held the 2015 edition of the University of holidays in Segou, from July 20 to 25, which brought together some thirty participants in a training camp and exchange skills around different modules (photo, video, technical light, applied arts, film, personal development, etc.). Ten professionals were present to coach young people. The University of Holidays 2015 was organized in partnership with the Foundation Festival sur le Niger.

Solo exhibition by the visual artist Souleymane Ouologuem

The visual artist Souleymane Ouologuem organized a solo exhibition at the Gallery Anw-Ko'Art on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 on the theme: "The Foundation". The artist draws heavily from its Dogon origins in his various creations. This solo exhibition of Souleymane Ouologuem enters the implementation of its project which received repayable loan from the Maaya Fund (assistance funds for artistic creation) of KYA Network. The Anw-Ko'Art Gallery has organized this exhibition in partnership with the Foundation Festival sur le Niger.
One Woman Show - "Sourakamousso Lalley, mousso ko ka foussa ni kèlè yé" (make peace not war) //  Blonba Theater Company
The Blonba theater company managed by Alioune Ifra Ndiaye presented its 16th creation entitled "Sourakamousso Lalley, mousso ko ka foussa ni Kele yé" (make love not war), this Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Palais de la Culture Bamako, befor more than 1700 people. This creation follows the first of Mali One Woman Show performed by the famous radio host Oumou Diarra "Dieman".

Inauguration of the Ja Blôn Gallery in Bamako

The Bamako district now has a new visual art gallery called ‘Ja Blon’ Gallery. The inauguration of this space dedicated to the visual arts and specifically to photography, located in the heart of Bamako ACI 2000, took place on Saturday, July 25, 2015. The inauguration was coupled with a photo exhibition whose revenues will support students in two rural communities of Koulikoro during the 2015-2016 academic year (school supplies). The creation of this gallery which is an initiative of the Association of Photojournalists of Mali "Jaton" is part of the implementation of a project supported by the Maaya Fund of KYA Network.
Launching conference of the 1st edition of the Nâthal Pulaaku Festival

The launching conference of the first edition of Nathal Pulaaku festival was held on July 26, 2015, as a prelude to the event to be held in Bamako from 18 to 20 December 2015 at the Palais de la Culture Amadou Hampaté Ba. The conference was moderated by Dr. Gouro Diallo, director of non-formal national languages at the Ministry of Education, Mr. Belco Barry, writer and specialist in Fulani language and Mrs. Adam Niamé Diop Ba, President of the Association Gnouman-Ke. Nathal Pulaaku The festival is organized by the Batia production agency in collaboration with the cultural actors, producers and associations for the promotion of the Fulani culture. It intends to create a space for exchanges between young Fulani and make this space a showcase for the promotion of the Fulani culture and the search for a definitive peace.

Bamako Slam Show / AGORATOIRE

After the International Festival of Humor and Slam (FISH), the Agoratoire association, in partnership with Siten'K Communication and the French Institute of Mali has established a forum dedicated to the slam, called "Bamako Slam Show". This event whose third edition was held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Patio of the French Institute of Mali, will continue every last Tuesday of each month to the delight of fans of the slam in the capital city. Bamako Slam Show is hosted by slammers of the association Agoratoire and other slammers artists.
The African Creative Economy Conference is an annual project of the Arterial Network, a Pan-African civil society network of artists, cultural activists, enterprises, NGOs and others active in the creative sector. Highlighting the role of culture in sustainable development, the ACEC aims to provide a practical analysis and reflective overview of the current status of the African creative economy. The ACEC has become an annual landmark to debate and formulate the strategies that help sustain and grow the creative sector in Africa. This meeting provides an enabling platform for dialogue, information exchange, networking and the strengthening of partnerships across arts disciplines, sectors, national borders and continents.
