March Technical Roadmapping Recap

The IACMI Technical Roadmapping Workshop was met with tremendous industry engagement as representatives gathered to participate in facilitated discussions focused on accelerating the development and adoption of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. Held last week at IAMCI headquarters in Knoxville, TN, the two-day event laid out the barriers and priorities in advanced composites manufacturing in three of IACMI's application areas: vehicles, compressed gas storage, and wind.

Craig Blue Keynote Speaker at SHYFT Design + Innovation Conference

IACMI CEO, Craig Blue delivered a keynote speech at the SHYFT Design + Innovation 2016 Conference hosted by Techmer in Chattanooga, TN. In his presentation, Blue gave a general introduction of ORNL/MDF and an overview of The Composites Institute, defining IACMI success and next steps. Other keynote speakers for the event included Jay Rogers, CEO of Local Motors, and Richard Clarke, Global Vice President of Advanced Innovation (DTC) of Nike. Inspired by Blue's presentation, Nike elected to extend their East Coast travel time and drive to Knoxville to tour the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) and learn more about the regional manufacturing innovation ecosystem.

New Faces

Please join us in welcoming our newest IACMI staff members! Administrative Contracts Coordinator, Jarrod Blue, most recently gained work experience with the City of Knoxville Legal Department and Tennessee Court of Appeals after obtaining a Juris Doctor as well as a Master of Science and Ecology from the University of Tennessee. Hannah Jay was also brought on board as Communications Specialist. Jay, a University of Louisville graduate, gained experience with the consumer products division of Scripps Networks Interactive and was introduced to the composites industry during her most recent role with a Knoxville-based national marketing agency.
