We are delighted to report that we have been awarded £12,000 from the Tesco Bags of Help appeal. The money will go towards developing and improving facilities at our Community Garden St Albans including access pathways for wheelchair users.
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its Bags of Help initiative across England and Wales.
Affordable transport solutions for rural communities have never been more essential. Rural areas have experienced a considerable reduction in facilities, such as hospitals, health centres, post offices and libraries, due to cuts in funding and an agenda to centralise services.
Help address rural transport needs with the Community Transport Association and ACRE.
GOVERNMENT proposals must not be allowed to result in the closure of rural pharmacies, MPs have warned. MPs fear government plans to save £163m in the NHS pharmacy budget could mean pharmacies in smaller towns and villages could be forced to shut up shop.
