MISSION UPDATE
At 1 FUR 1 Foundation, we stay true to our mission no matter the challenges around us. Even though we had limited fundraising, we were able to manage our financial reality well, which allowed our partners to receive additional grants and resources during the second year of COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022 we had to learn how to be stronger support system for our partners as we go through another year of the unexpected; from family tragedy and deployment reintegration to dissolution of charitable operations.We were there every step of the way, providing guidance and a friendly shoulder to lean on. Among all the sadness we found a bright light in a new partnership with Newfie Therapy. That enabled us to offer free animal assisted interaction to close to 10,000 first responders and medical staff while they were on the job.Offering those heroes relief, even for only an hour, filled our hearts with love and gratitude, but that's not all..read more.

PROGRAM NEWS
ANIMAL ASSISTED ACTIVITY

Our animal assisted activity sector exploded last year due to the never-ending demand at hospitals, veteran's centers and fire stations. The mini horses from Kindred Spirit Therapy Minis  gave joy to over 292 veterans and the giant Newfie Therapy Dogs provided relief to over 9,938 first responders and medical staff. In 2022, the demand will not decrease so we plan on doubling the number of people we impact.
ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY
 
We're proud to announce our 2021 impact stats for our AAT sector which contains two programs - Canine Advocacy Program (CAP) and Hearts & Hooves Therapy (HHT). Even though HHT has not been operational for over 8 month out of the year, they were able to provide 13  animal assisted therapy session which helped 28 children with Autism. In 2022 the HHT healing hooves in SoCal will continue to help their mom go through the grieving process and slowly welcome back some familiar faces.
In the Midwest, Canine Advocacy Program (CAP) will be working double as courts work through their backlogs and pandemic victims are able to come forward. Last year, the canine advocates were able to assist 1,623 child victims and their families go through the judicial system in Michigan.
