MISSION UPDATE

Our preliminary 2020 annual impact reports give us a glimpse into the harsh reality we lived in 2020 and uncertainty of what's to come. 1 FUR 1 Foundation provided 866 animal assisted activity (AAA) and therapy (AAT) sessions to 2,517 people with disabilities. These efforts were made possibly by loving help of 50 dogs and mini horses who worked at 41 facility locations across five states. 1 FUR 1 plans to continue expanding our program partnerships during the 2021 Corona-virus pandemic so, please, be sure to check back with us and follow us on facebook @1fur1 for the latest news.

PROGRAM NEWS

ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY

We're so proud of both of our animal assisted therapy programs (AAT) which have been able to work at reduce capacity and provide outdoor 1-1 sessions to children in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. 1 FUR 1 provided masks, digital software, court room guide books and other much needed supplies as well as $9,414 to the mini horses in SoCal and $14,880 to the canine advocates in Michigan. These essential programs have helped child victims of crime to testify in court and provided health solutions throughout the life span, for the needs of children with autism and families.

ANIMAL ASSISTED ACTIVITY

Animal assisted activity programs (AAA) which serve hospital patients, disabled seniors, veterans and students with disabilities have been suspended since April, 2020. Both of these programs, which provide group sessions and operate in St. Louis, MO, Illinois and Florida have been forced to the sidelines due to COVID-19. So, 1 FUR 1 provided them with animal trading cards for each of the 21 working animals that were send to the facilities they visits as well as additional support in order to sustain their operation; $9,985 to the therapy dogs in schools and $6,910 to the mini horses in Florida. We're optimistic about 2021 and looking forward to have people vaccinated which will allows us to do what we do.
