'News from the Studio'
Dear Art Lovers,
It has been such a busy time here at Pilgrim Creek Studios as we prepare for my next up and coming exhibition Transcendence at West End Art Space in Melbourne. Even though we've experienced some very cold wet weather of late, new work has been created with gusto and I now look forward to relaxing with you and being a spectator myself (glass of wine in hand of course) at the opening on Saturday the 2nd of September.  A big thank you to Director Anna Prifti and resident artist Sarah Randall for their assistance in bringing this all together... also to Chris Major and Wayne Foenander for logistics, transport and their quiet patience!  Feel welcome to contact the gallery for a digital catalogue and price list.
Amongst other things, painting The First Hit 2017 was recently exhibited as a finalist in the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize held at the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery.  It presented an opportunity to catch REX and spend a couple of nights inland where we caught up with friends (who live just up the road from us) and popped into Pro Hart's Gallery amongst others.  It was a whirlwind trip and before we knew it we were back at home looking at the photo's!  Of course I knew the blue streak in my hair would match the Rolls...
Earlier this month I was invited to demonstrate at a workshop held at the McClelland Guild of Artists (McClelland Sculpture Park & Gallery) in Langwarrin.  I stepped out of my studio and right out of my comfort zone but found myself at home amongst other passionate artists.  Up until that day I had no idea of the studios and workshops that exist behind the main gallery!  Independant community organisations that cover a wide range of skills from painting and drawing, wood turning, lapidary and jewellery making to spinning and weaving.  Guest artist demonstrations are held on Saturday afternoons at the Guild studio once a month - for more information visit their facebook page McClelland Guild of Artists Inc.

The Perilous Enquiry by artist Kerrie Warren has been selected as a finalist to appear in the Award Exhibition at Manningham Art Gallery between Wednesday 16th August and Saturday 23rd of September. The exhibition celebrates the best in contemporary Victorian ceramic art practice from across the state.
