master plan update
It’s been another busy 6 months for the MMS Buildings & Grounds Committee managing both the long-term campus re-development plans and the numerous short-term ‘transitional’ projects that support the 10-year Master Plan.
The Stage 2 building works, carried out during the previous summer holidays, were completed in time for the start of school and have created a wonderful learning environment for our Cycle 4 students.  The Cycle 1 children have been fascinated watching the progress of the extension to the existing Staff Room (via a purpose-built peep hole) scheduled for completion at the start of Term 3.  The staff are looking forward to a spacious Staff Room with separate work/meeting spaces and new kitchen facilities.
The planning for Stage 3 building works is underway and will be finalised in Term 3.  These works include a new Cycle 3 classroom at the Caulfield Campus and additional learning spaces to accommodate next years intake of Cycle 4 students. These building works will be conducted over the coming summer holidays and completed in time for the start of the 2017 school year.

A substantial traffic analysis was recently conducted at the Brighton Campus and a Traffic Report will be submitted to Bayside Council to resolve the current outstanding planning application.

Ongoing maintenance continues at both Campuses, especially during the June/July holidays, with painting, landscaping, the installation of new security systems that include CCTV and pin-code access and new sporting facilities at the Caulfield Campus.
MMS Brighton Campus: The construction of the new Staff Room and Kitchen has been eagerly watched by students through a purpose-built peep hole.
The pre-planning meeting held with Bayside Council at the end of last year, and the subsequent feedback to our 10-year Master Plan, has informed the current planning strategy for the 10-year Master Plan.  The MMS Building & Grounds Committee is working with our Project Managers, Architects and Town Planners to prepare a Planning Application to Bayside Council for the first stage of new building works at the Brighton Campus.

Architectural concepts are currently being developed to create new learning spaces to consolidate our Junior School at the Brighton Campus.  There will be more information, including architectural designs, made available to the community later in the year.
MMS Brighton Campus: Recent Cycle 4 building works include a north-facing courtyard outside the Church/Hall, planting for the chickens and path leading to the Science Building and new Kitchen facilities.
foundation update
The MMS Foundation Board has spent the first half of the year finalising the capital campaign strategy, a fundraising initiative that will support the redevelopment of both the Brighton and Caulfield Campuses as outlined in the 10-year Master Plan.  There will be more information about this exciting fundraising initiative, a first for our school community, later in the year with the launch planned for 2017.
The MMS Foundation Capital Campaign Project Team will act as the steering committee for this initiative and is looking for parents, grandparents, alumni or community members to get involved.  Skills in fundraisings, event management, marketing or project management are always welcome but not imperative.  If you would like to make difference and contribute to our Schools exciting future this is a wonderful opportunity to be involved.  If you are interested to learn more or would like to join our Capital Campaign Project Team, please contact .au
The MMS Community Finance Fund continues to lead the way as an innovator in this space and to reflect this status has been invited to participate in the Impact Investing Australia's pilot study to measure the market size and performance (social and financial) of Australian impact investing. The research will be conducted by Impact Investing Australia with research support from Monash University School of Social Sciences and the University of Sydney Business School.
MMS Caulfield Campus: Cycle 2 students working independently with language and math materials.
