Draft Fixtures - Action Required
The first draft of fixtures (rounds 1-4) is now available on Secretaries' Corner. A few things to note:
  • This is only a draft so please do not pass on to coaches/parents as things will change
  • A couple of late team changes have come in today meaning we will continue to work on the draft over the coming days. As major changes are made an update will be posted to Secretaries' Corner. However, clubs can always access the latest copy via Reports/Competitions/Advanced Fixtures in footyweb
Feedback on fixtures must be submitted no later than 9am, Thursday 13th April and must be sent to gmfootball@smjfl.com.au. Alternatively, Emily is happy to work through club fixtures via phone or in the office is this helps.

Please take the following into account when providing feedback:
  • Feedback will be processed as it's received so please check latest fixtures prior to providing feedback
  • Any specific request (e.g. U10 Girls team in the afternoon) have not yet been taken into consideration - please review fixtures and advise of specific changes to ensure your requests are met (where possible!)
  • Generally speaking, requests made by the home team will be actioned - away team requests will only be considered if no conflicting request is received from the home team
  • Please advise if any changes are on the condition that particular away games are not changed
BlueQ Update - Action Required
The following information has been provided by BlueQ to assist clubs with setting everything up for the season:

Below are the actions you’ll want to take to bring your BlueQ account up to date for the season.

1.      Remove Non-Active Users

You’ll want to make sure anyone no longer tied to the organisation is unlinked from your Club. [video here]

2.      Add New Users

-        You can create new accounts easily within BlueQ. [video here]

-        If someone already has an account but needs to be linked to your club, please contact support@blueq.com.au.

-        For 20+ users that need to be added, please fill out the attached excel and send to support@blueq.com.au to be uploaded.

3.      Update Roles

You’ll want to make sure everyone’s Role is up to date for the current season using the specific role names found here.  This is very important as the correct requirements are directly tied to the specific role name (e.g. use Junior Coach (U8-U12) not just Coach).  Roles can be changed from the View People page by clicking on the role directly. [video here]

4.      Assign Teams

Your Club teams are now listed under the Manage Groups page.  You can edit groups to assign members to their teams. [video here]

Lastly, users should then login to upload their required documentation to ensure compliance with their role.  Any questions or issues on using BlueQ can be directed to support@blueq.com.au.

Quick Questions - Answered.
  • Match Footballs delivery? Expected delivery late next week. All clubs will be notified immediately, we are working through the most efficient collection process, and office hours will be extended to allow for 'after hours' collection on multiple days.
  • Outstanding Wristband Orders? These will be filled as soon as possible, unexpected mod-rules growth has resulted in limited supplies. Additional stock is expected before the season. All clubs who have ordered will be notified immediately when collection is available. Need to order - CLICK HERE.
  • Match-Day Officials Bibs? Be sure you have enough match-day bibs, these often have a multiple-week lead time. Need to order? - CLICK HERE. Has your club thought about GROUND MANAGER BIBS. These were a new initiative in 2016 and were very well received - available immediately - ORDER HERE.
  • McDonald's Awards Certificates/Vouchers? Our partnership with McDonald's SEA has ended, and will not be continuing in 2017 at a league level. There will be no $5 vouchers distributed to clubs.

Meet the Umpire - RSVP for session 1 due by Friday 28th April

Many Thanks to Mordialloc-Braeside, Caulfield and Port Melbourne for volunteering to host our inaugural “Meet the Umpire” sessions. These sessions have been arranged for COACHES and TEAM MANAGERS from all clubs to attend. Please promote to your team officials. This is their chance to meet with our umpiring staff, and some of our umpires, and a great opportunity to ask them questions about how umpires and the umpiring department works in an informal and friendly fashion.  We have scheduled three separate dates/venues to enable coaches and team managers from all clubs a chance to attend the nearest venue, or most convenient date.

Further Sessions: 15th May @ Murphy Reserve (Port Melbourne JFC) and 19th June @ Koornang Park (Caulfield Bears JFC) - both at 6.30pm
