Updated Pre-Season Gradings (U14-U17)

Updated Pre-Season Gradings can now be found on Secretaries' Corner.
Please note the following:

  • Any changes made since Initial Pre-Season Gradings were distributed have been highlighted (red if a team moved down & green if moved up)
  • Any merged teams are currently named as per the clubs administering the team (names can be changes at a later date but please advise if admin club needs to change)
  • The SMJFL does it's best to accommodate requests but this is not always possible
  • Gradings are not yet final and are subject to change once all new teams are confirmed
  • Some grades may only have 3-5 teams in them at the moment - this will change after all teams are confirmed
  • The SMJFL still has your feedback so if it's possible with other team movements we will continue to try and accommodate leading up to the season
  • We will re-grade as much as is needed after round 4.
'SMJFL Media Day' - Casting Call
The SMJFL is hosting an exiting new event in 2017. Based on successful models, we will work with Red Onion Creative to capture content (photos and videos) to be used during the year, for specific campaigns, recognition rounds, events and functions. We have a had a great response for 'talent' so far!

We need all clubs featured so please share with your members:

When: Tuesday 4 April (in the school holidays) - 10am-4pm (players and parents are not required for the whole day)
Where: Centenary Park, East Bentleigh, 140 Brady Road (St Peters FC)

Club presidents, committees and volunteers are invited to have their time in the spotlight and contribute to valuable content for league digital projects. AFL Clubs, corporate partners and key stakeholders will be in attendance.
Team Signature Sheets - Action Required
As per previous years, all teams are required to submit Team Signature Sheets for each team. The template online upload form can be found on Secretaries' Corner or by clicking here.
For all age groups where a club only fields one team, the Team Signature Sheet must be submitted prior to round 1. Where clubs have more than one team in an age group. the Team Signature Sheets must be submitted prior to round 4.
Team Entries - Action Required (Reminder)
All U8-U13, girls and any new teams entries are now open. These need to be submitted via the Footyweb system no later than 9am Monday 27 March. Please click here for further information on the process and feel free to contact Emily for any clarification.
Please note, given the girls' team number projections recently received, clubs are asked to nominate a division for U12, U14 & U16s (previous years we have just asked for the number of teams).

If they have completed the on-line component previously they do not need to repeat it, but attendance at on of the two information nights is mandatory.
Does your club require Umpires for practice matches?
Our umpires are available for practice matches at a cheaper rate than during the season. They will require cash payment from the home (booking) club on match day. Please CLICK HERE to enter details of matches requiring umpires. Payment details are contained on the form. Please enter details as early as possible so we have the best chance of filling requests.
