September

Water, Colour

Its all change going into the autumn. Lots of work done last month so thanks to everyone for that and the garden is looking far more decorative and sociable with our board game tables and painted dolphin artwork. There's plenty to get up to, whether you wish to continue making our beer can roofs or get involved in some amateur hydro-engineering. Here is the provisional plan for the next couple of months and some updates. As always they could change and if anyone wants to add anything of their own feel free.

4th September, Friday 6pm till dark

It's Digbeth First Friday again and we have the Real Junk Food Project and Naked Lungs combining for the pop-up poetry café. This time we have a bit more seating in the best traditions of up-cycling.

5th September, Saturday 12.00 - 14.00

Hopefully we'll be having a bit of an Indian summer (joking) to relax and sooth some hangovers in, and a bit of light gardening might be in order. There's still plenty of decorating to be done and we would like to get some green manures planted in a few of the growing beds.

19th September, Saturday 12.00 - 16.00

A new project in the garden is to try to put together an aquaponics system. We probably won't be able to get it working before spring but it would be great to fit all the drains and pipes together and test it out, which also gives us the chance to upgrade our current water harvesting set-up. We'll also be taking some seeds and cuttings from our edible herbs for distribution at the up-coming Halloween harvest festival.
