DCG on Tour

Bonfire Time

Digbeth Community Garden will be on tour briefly this month - at the White Swan Car Park in Digbeth on the 6th November to be precise. We'll be taking part in Digbeth First Friday by lending some wood and an incinerator bin. The Real Junk food project will be there too, so if you are in the digbeth area on Friday, come along for drink, food, fire and fireworks, organised by Digbeth residents association.

Thanks to everyone who organised, volunteered for or attended the Friends of the Earth Halloween Harvest Festival at the garden on Saturday, including the Real Junk Food Project and Birmingham Organic Gardeners. It was a very successful event with lots of activity and some impressive pumpkin carving.
Friday 6th November - White Swan Fireworks - meet at DCG 17:30
Saturday 21st November - Workday - 12:00 - 16:00

Lots still to do as we head into winter. We hope to move some compost heaps around and attatch some drain pipes to the walls for our watering system to be fully up and running for next spring. That also means connecting the two ponds. We shall also be beginning a mushroom cultivation experiment with some oyster mushroom plugs and freshly cut logs. And there is plenty of upcyling to get on with, if anyone fancies creative DIY. There may also be a trip out to collect some fish for the pond.
