Details are starting to roll into place for Trans BC and the ski's are getting put away and the bikes are being dusted off ready for an action packed 2016 summer of fun! If you miss any newsletters, they all go on the home page of the website, so keep an eye on that!
SPOKANE SHUTTLE (AFTER THE RACE)
We would like to confirm that the special shuttle from Nelson to Spokane on July 10th is happening. This is for those that choose not to get the included transport back to Kelowna after the race is over and want to take advantage of flying back home out of Spokane. This shuttle is run by a local shuttle company. It will be US$80-95 based on how many book. Use the box below to sign up and then we work out payment later once the list is confirmed. It will depart Nelson around 9am and arrive at the Spokane airport around 12.30pm to 1pm'ish. We can have it leave earlier if there is enough request. A few people will be staying in Nelson to ride some extra trails on July 10th and looking to take this shuttle on July 11th. If you would like to do this then put your name on the July 11th Shuttle!
Reminder that you all need travel insurance. Northman Insurance is based in Canada and covers all riders coming from out of Canada and covers you for racing (which is super hard to find). An estimate for 8 days of medical insurance from them is C$26. You can choose to add on lost baggage and trip cancellation and all that jazz to this is you want. Their prices go up 16% as of April 15th, so if you want to save some $ get that sorted this week. You can't book online, you have to call + 1 (844) 207-7522 or email firstname.lastname@example.org (note its .co and NOT .com). Let them know you are racing Trans BC. https://northman.co/
We have created a Forum page on the website for you guys to communicate amongst yourselves about what ever topic you want. Eg car pooling up from USA, riding more after the race or what ever you choose. You can access this forum page from the website menu. I have started a few threads but feel free to start your own.
We are going to start to collect your arrival details in the next month, so start to get your travel plans sorted then I will have a form for you to all fill out next month to collect this info! Reminder: arrival day is July 3rd into Kelowna. We are doing airport pick ups from 9am to 5pm. Dinner is 6pm. We will also do 2 x downtown pickups. One at 11am and one at 4pm. Location to be determined based on demand.
You can get the return buses back to Kelowna from Nelson. Its a 5hr+ bus ride and it won't arrive back in Kelowna until around 3pm. Dropping you downtown.
There are still a bunch of you on the naughty list. If you haven't been in touch with me you need to make final payment or email me in the next 7 days or your spot will allocated to the next lucky rider on the list!!
That's it for now. Next newsletter is May, when we collect your arrival and departure info and travel insurance providers. Note that trip cancellation insurance is a great idea, as if you injure yourself after June 1st, there is no refund, of which your insurance would reimburse you for this if you can't make it due to injury! Just a heads up on this!
