Your Vote 2020: An Evening with Donna Brazile
Join us on Thursday, October 29, 7 p.m. for an examination of our election process, from both historical and current perspectives. Donna Brazile, legendary political strategist​​​​​​, campaign manager, political analyst, twice-acting Chair of the Democratic National Committee and ​author of Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Politics, discusses the 2016 election, voting and voter suppression and shares her passion for encouraging young people to vote, run for office and get involved in making change from inside the system. Fall Into Reading
Children and teens can enter to win prizes in our Fall Into Reading Challenge. Anyone birth to 17 is eligible. Register on Beanstack to earn points and badges by completing a variety of fun activities and reading. Youth and families can even create their own activities to earn points. Earn 10 points to complete the challenge and be automatically entered to win a $25 VISA gift card with up to 20 winners. Ends November 30.

Foundation for Baltimore County Public Library is having a no-bake sale and have we got a sweet deal for you! Be a smart cookie and let us do all the hard work for you. Get a dozen sugar cookies baked by Food Network’s Jason Hisley, owner of Cake by Jason Hisley and winner of Cupcake Wars, and skip right to the fun part! Or add lots of local treats and goodies and make it an even bigger party. Kits go on sale Monday, October 19. All proceeds benefit the Foundation and our support of vital library services.

Wrap Up Hispanic Heritage Month with Us
As Hispanic Heritage month comes to a close, here are two virtual programs for you to enjoy.
Learn to make Mexcian Amate art.
Learn to cook Puerto Rican tostones (fried plantains).

Programs for all ages are available through Facebook, YouTube and other virtual platforms. Registration may be required and closes one hour before the start of the program or when session is filled. A valid email address is needed at registration to send a Zoom or Discord link to the program 30 minutes before scheduled start. Here are some highlights:

  • ​Come play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition with us over Zoom. Beginners and veterans welcome. Pre-made characters and materials provided, though you are welcome to use your own dice and books.​ For teens and adults.
Speaker Series: In Pursuit: The Hunt for the Beltway Snipers
Wednesday, October 21, 7 p.m.
  • Author David Reichenbaugh was the criminal intelligence operations commander for the Maryland State Police and the commanding officer at the scene during the Beltway snipers’ capture. In Pursuit: The Hunt for the Beltway Snipers is a memoir of one of the greatest manhunts in the Capitol Region.​ David discusses his experience​​ and takes questions from the audience. Sponsored by the Friends of the Perry Hall Library.
