About Discord

Discord is a free app that allows users to communicate via text, voice or video in real time, and is available as a mobile app, a PC program or through any web browser. It has primarily been used and known as an app for video gaming but has quickly become a social media hangout for several topics and interests.

We are using Discord as a digital hangout space, specifically for teens, to provide virtual programming in a curated and well-moderated virtual space. The server may be public but it is constantly monitored by our librarians and has safety measures in place to ensure that the server is always as safe as possible.
