Stewardship Ingathering | October 23
We'll bless our pledge cards at all three services, but the Highlander Atholl Pipe and Drums will come and play for the 10:15 am service and afterward for a parade behind the church. The Men of HI will cook out. Come and celebrate our church family together!
Dear Friends,
I am ready to feel free. After two years of pandemic, construction at the school, and a whole season of worry and dread, I am ready to set down my old burdens and celebrate a new beginning. I am delighted to share that your church leadership has decided that now is the time to pay off our mortgage as we conclude our 150th year.
Why pay off the mortgage now? First, we are paying almost $130,000 in interest and principal out of our annual budget. Imagine what we can accomplish by restoring that money to our community! Second, we have an Adjustable-Rate Mortgage which means it is significantly more expensive to pay our mortgage due to inflation. And most importantly, the mortgage was taken out to pay for the building renovation in 2012, a decade ago. The mortgage has held us back for too long. It is time to put down our burdens. As someone who has lost 60 pounds this year, I feel free to leave that weight behind. Imagine how liberating we will all feel, set free to serve the world!
So far we have raised $1.3 million towards our $2 million goal.
The challenge is clear.
Will you help us to raise $700,000 to put down the burden of this mortgage?
Our goal for the 2023 Annual Stewardship Campaign is to increase our budget by $100,000. This money would be used to increase our outreach funding, deal with inflation increases, and give a raise to the staff that has kept everything humming smoothly. We know that together, we can achieve this goal. We invite each of you to take a moment and think about what this community means to you. Then, challenge yourself to grow your giving, step by step. Help set our community free so that we can better serve each other and the world. Our Pledge In-gathering Sunday will be Sunday, October 23. We will gather in worship, then Kirkin’ O’ the Tartan, and a picnic to celebrate! If you are unable to attend, please mail your pledge to the church or make a pledge online.
