Christmas Review

Bill and I looked at each other in the sacristy after the services on Christmas night. Either one of us could have broken into tears or laughter at that moment. We both reflected on just how blessed we are to be a part of this Holy Innocents' Church family. You really are extraordinary!

So thank you. To all of you who played a part in making the services so beautiful - your creativity and hard work are inspiring. The music, the flowers, the hospitality, the smiles, the hugs. Our children telling the Good News of the birth of the Christ Child in the manger and all the parents and patient teachers keeping watch - you brought the joy and the laughter. Thank you.

And your generosity is also unmatched. From my fresh perspective, I am still in awe and wonder. You have pledged over $1.8 million toward retiring our debt. We are going to do this! The possibilities are endless once we are truly set free to serve. Every dollar we pay now will help as our interest rates rise. We are so grateful to those who have been able to give. And we're closing in quickly on our goal for our 2023 Operating Budget. Some of you have to wait until January, and we understand, but the Vestry does have to make some decisions in the coming weeks. If you can make your pledge soon, we would be grateful.

And finally to our incredible staff. You have responded with persistence and creativity so many different times. The word 'pivot' is no longer adequate. You are always on your toes and willing to say yes every time someone asks for help. We look forward to what 2023 has in store for us all.

To God be the Glory for all these many gifts!
God bless you and your families. Happy New Year!

P.S. Bill is on vacation with his family in Memphis, but I look forward to preaching on Sunday morning as we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Name. "After eight days had passed, it was time to circumcise the child; and he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb." Luke 2:21.

P.S.S. I hope you will bring a fun holiday dish for our 9:00 am informal potluck in Inglett Hall! (Go Dawgs!)

Thank you!
