Parent Teacher Conferences

Good afternoon DLS Families,

We are reaching out with information about upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences (PTCs). PTCs will be offered in-person on Tuesday, October 6th and virtually on Thursday, October 8th.  

WHITEMAN CAMPUS

Tuesday, October 6th- In-person

 3:30-7:00 PM 

Thursday, October 8th - Virtual

3:30-6:30 PM (some time adjustments may be made based on teacher schedule) Please review the teacher’s Google Calendar link to view all available slots. 

How To Sign Up

Whiteman teachers will post their Google Calendar sign up link on their Schoology room parent page on Wednesday, September 23rd by the end of the day. Please sign up for one PTC time. 

English Parent Teacher Conferences 

Our English teachers will provide a set number of conferences for our Tier 3 third and fourth grade families. Tier 3 students are identified students that are not yet meeting grade level expectations and are receiving additional interventions to support their English literacy development. These conferences will be provided in-person on Tuesday, October 6th from 3:30-7:00 PM and virtually/ in-person on Thursday, October 8th from 7:30am-4:30 PM. English teachers will reach out to these families directly via email to set up a conference time. 

For families whose students are not identified as Tier 3, English teachers will share reminders on Schoology about how to access your child's grades and interpret assessment scores. Please keep an eye out for these updates.

Specials teachers (Music, Art, PE, and Library) are available on Tuesday, October 6th on a drop-in basis from 3:30-7:00 PM for in-person conferences. You may reach out to Specials teachers directly if you need to schedule a virtual meeting on Thursday, October 8th.

If your child is supported by the Whiteman Student Support Team for speech/language services, IEPs, 504s, or other services, SST team members may reach out to schedule additional conferences separate from classroom teachers. Our Special Education teachers will send progress reports home for students they work with. 

Multi-Lingual Education Students

Please look for an email from Ms. Olympia with her conference schedule, or feel free to contact her directly to request a time.

As a reminder, no after school programs are scheduled to run on Tuesday, October 6th, including Enrichments and Dolphin Study Hall.

GILPIN CAMPUS - STUDENT LED CONFERENCES

Tuesday, October 6th - In-person

4:30 – 8:00 PM 

Thursday, October 8th - Virtual 

5:00 – 8:00 PM

Today, you should have received an email from your student’s advisory (grades 6-8) teacher or a post on Schoology from your student’s homeroom (grade 5) teacher that contains a Calendly or Google link to sign up for a conference. You will only be signing up for ONE conference. That 10-minute conference will have information from all of your student’s teachers, a work sample for each class, and your child’s own slideshow with their current grades, goals, glows, and grows. We highly encourage students to be present, alongside their family members, at these conferences because they should be led by your student. If you have concerns about your student’s progress, we recommend you reach out to your student’s teacher(s) to set up a longer meeting at a different time.

We appreciate all families signing up for conferences on one of these two days, as this is our dedicated time for student led conferences. If you are not able to attend one one of these days, teachers will try to set up a meeting at a time convenient for them. 

As a reminder, no after school programs are scheduled to run on Tuesday, October 6th, including middle school sports practices and enrichments.
