The Journey Continues...

What the adventure we have been on, and we're not even in Uganda yet. Here's a few things we've been working on...
  1. Communication and expectations in finding a sending / sponsoring church.
  2. Online giving options for our support team and others who would like to contribute to the mission work.
  3. Medical / emergency insurance so we are covered while living in Uganda.
  4. Financial organization who handles our international taxes, retirement and college fund contributions, insurances, etc.
  5. Possible options & planning for a shipping container to send our stuff overseas to arrive at our new home.
  6. Options for bringing Jezebel with us.
  7. Paperwork needed for moving / working in Uganda (passports, visas, birth/marriage certificates, etc).
  8. Trust applications for help with start-up expenses such as vehicles, advance rent, shipping, back-up generator systems, etc.

In addition, we have on-going training with Missions Resource Network that include...

  1. A weekly Bible study with a small group.
  2. Prepare & Enrich workbook to continue to strengthen our marriage.
  3. Resources to enhance our Biblical foundations and spiritual journey.
  4. Equipping to train disciples to become disciple-makers.
The final piece of our daily routine is ongoing support-raising conversations to continue to build a team of financial and prayer partners who are investing in what God's doing through us. While it's a busy season, we are so thankful for this new journey and we appreciate your ongoing prayers throughout this process.
Note from JP Robinson: "As we wrapped up our first two days with our first discipleship cohort, I was amazed (embarrassingly so) at how God went before us and prepared hearts. There was a level of transparency and openness that I seriously wasn't expecting for at least a year with these 9 men, especially since many fear sharing their struggles because such information can and has been used against them by brothers they thought they could trust. Dennis Okoth and I prayed that God would work a miracle and make a way for an accelerated openness between these men. God did just that. My embarrassment comes from my surprise at God's goodness and faithfulness. We prayed. He answered. And I'm surprised. Lord, increase my faith. And of course--thank you to everyone who is praying. Please continue with us. God is answering."

Meet JP & Jill Robinson and their kids Jean Mark & Riley. The Robinson's have been in Mbale for 3 years now and are leading the team in the new direction of disciple-making and mentoring. We are excited to work so closely with them and watch how God continues to move.

Leland and Gina met at Abilene Christian University and graduated in 2004. Shortly after college, we got engaged and married. We've been married for 10 years and have worked in youth ministry a little longer than that. In October 2012, God blessed us with a sweet and sassy little girl, Adalyn. We also can’t forget our adorable and lovable English bulldog, Jezebel. We strive to bring glory to God in whatever we do & have fun doing it.
