Fast Pitch 2020 Recap
On Thursday, November 20th, over 50 start-up teams delivered a 60-second pitch to a panel of judges consisting of Columbia alumni and members of the NYC venture community, followed by a rapid Q&A session. The duality of substantive pitch content and creative use of Zoom backgrounds reflected the unique circumstances of this year’s Fast Pitch Competition. Congratulations to the winners who split $5,000! 
 
Undergraduates 
1st place: Iris - Easily-integrable remote IV-alarm monitoring systems
2nd place: OnTrack - AI productivity tool in the format of a smart chrome extension that blocks out all your distractions
3rd place: Cold Chain-ge - Increasing access to vaccines through orally-dissolving films


Graduates/Alumni
1st place: EZ Health - Telemedicine platform for non-native English speakers
2nd place: Werewool - Biodegradable performance textile fibers with inherent color
3rd place: Envirobe - Engineering Microbes To Infinitely Recycle Plastics

As you know, local businesses continue to be hit very hard by COVID-19 and many of them are verging on permanent closure. Two of our engineering school alumni are looking to address this issue by building iXopp (pronounced “i-Shop”), a location-based marketplace app that allows mom & pop stores to promote their products and businesses. 
Join their beta and participate in their quest to build a community and pave the local way. You can sign up for their service to get the latest updates or download their mobile app to discover and shop at your local stores.
