Executive Director Cate DeFiore says, “While these are not essential items, they are little luxuries that would be really exciting to have! Thank you all for your support! This little school runs on generosity and love!”

The UM Disaster Relief Warehouse Christmas Shoe Box Ministry provides Christmas shoe boxes to needy children in Central America and the Caribbean. The $5 shipping donation provides shipment to the port and covers expenses for our missionaries to transport/deliver the Christmas shoe boxes. Once dispatched from the port the shoe boxes often travel by truck, canoe, and horseback and are hand-carried by hiking to the children in remote villages. Countries participating in the 2022 campaign are Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Mexico. We also plan to resume shipment to Panama and Ecuador in 2022.
In 2022 we can offer two options – No Contact and Traditional.
No Contact Option: A financial donation of $25 will fill one box and cover the shipping donation of $5. Below are photos of what a shoe box for a five- to a seven-year-old girl would look like as an example.
Please make checks payable to: UM Disaster Relief Warehouse Shoe Box Ministry
Please MAIL Checks To: UM Disaster Relief Warehouse
PO Box 1133 Decatur, AL 35602
Please include No Contact Option in the Memo Line of your check.
Please stop by the Greene Street entrance foyer and pick up an empty shoe box with a set of instructions, The Spanish Language Christmas coloring book, and the Nativity Scene Artwork. Return it to the Greene Street entrance foyer. For more information, please contact the UM Disaster Relief Warehouse at 256-641-9961, or click HERE to send an email.
On the first and second Thursday of each month a team from Huntsville First provides lunch for the residents and staff of 305 8th Street Community. The team makes a menu each month and then divides up the responsibility for providing various items to members of the team. Lunch items can be homemade or purchased and volunteers can simply drop off their items or stay and visit with the residents and help to serve lunch. If you are interested in joining this team please contact Marnie Woeber by clicking HERE.
Letting others know they are being prayed for is UPLIFTING – for the writer and the one wanting prayer!
Note – we ask you to use your first name only and the church address (you’ll see that in the attached info on writing letters).
Your letters can and do make a difference! From an 82-year-old inmate, “Thanks for prayers and letter I received. Continue prayer for my family and things are improving.”
Just click HERE to find a list of men requesting prayer and attached info.

A new meal ministry has started that will help to feed those cared for by our mission partner, Huntsville Good Samaritan. PARTICIPATION IS SUPER EASY! Pick up disposable pans with recipes in the church’s Greene Street lobby (outside of main offices). All you have to do is purchase and prepare the needed item and then return to the church office on Thursday, July 21 between 8:30am and 6pm. Items will be refrigerated until picked up by Huntsville Good Samaritans first thing Friday morning. They will then heat the food and distribute it. We are hoping this can become an ongoing weekly ministry, helping Huntsville Good Samaritans to be able to provide a meal each Friday for those in need within our community.
For more information please contact Tomalyn Dombrowski at 256-679-4431.

This week the GO Team asks you to join us in prayer for some of our own. Please pray for Mary Ena and Warne Heath, Ann and Fred Kepner, and Bill Sullins as they travel to Utah to participate in a leadership training with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Our county is not currently served by a chapter of this ministry and this team of individuals is feeling a nudging from God to change that.
