Students Compete in M-CERSI Regulatory Science Contest

On Feb. 10, 2020, students from the University of Maryland, College Park and University of Maryland, Baltimore presented their research projects in the 8th annual University of Maryland Center for Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation's (M-CERSI) "America's Got Regulatory Science Talent" Competition

Team Brain Alliance - comprised of University of Maryland School of Pharmacy Doctoral candidates Adaeze Amaefule, Breanna Owoo, Hannah Kim, and Sydney Yuen - earned first place for their proposal to streamline U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) medical device information into an easy-to-access mobile application. 

Other participants included University of Maryland, College Park biological sciences graduate student and Fischell Institute researcher Caitlyn Singam. Singam proposed increased use of autonomous reporting technology for medication errors in hospitals.

Deadline Extended for MPowering the State Student Entrepreneurship Fellowship

By request, the Robert E. Fischell Institute has extended the application deadline for the MPowering the State Student Entrepreneurship Fellowship to March 1, 2020. This opportunity is open to students graduating from the engineering, pharmacy, or related STEM programs. Fellows will be enrolled in the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) program, beginning Fall 2020.
