Bringing women* into full and equal participation in the arts.

WHAT IS STATERA MENTORSHIP?

Statera Mentorship is at the core of Statera's mission - taking positive action to bring women* into full and equal participation in the arts. A flourishing mentor relationship helps both mentor and mentee organize their professional challenges, nurture their creative ideas and activate their personal gifts.

StateraArts works to connect women interested in moving beyond the very real obstacles that sometimes lie between our goals and our successes. The most effective way to grow, expand, and manifest change is to work together.

Led by National Co-Directors Minita Gandhi, Erika Haaland, and a team of dedicated volunteers, StateraArts launched the first regional chapter of Statera Mentorship in Chicago, IL in 2017. We are thrilled to be introducing Statera Mentorship: SOUTH TEXAS under the leadership of Regional Coordinator Christine Jugueta!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Interested mentors/mentees begin by submitting an application. After reviewing your submission, your Regional Coordinator(s) will pair you with the mentor/mentee that best fits your professional goals & needs for the duration of our six-month program - July 1st 2019-December 31st 2019. Pairs are asked to meet a minimum of two hours per month and these meetings can take place in-person, via phone, or video conference/skype. In addition, participating mentors/mentees will have access to:
  • Statera Mentorship: SOUTH TEXAS Social Media Platforms
  • Our Mentorship Packet detailing the program
  • Tips for cultivating a successful mentor/mentee relationship

OUR MISSION
UPLIFT. AMPLIFY. ADVANCE. Statera takes positive action to bring women* into full and equal participation in the Arts.

OUR VISION

Statera, deriving its name from the Latin word for balance, normalizes a humane and holistic creative environment that nourishes innovation.

*A NOTE ON INCLUSION AT STATERA

Women: Statera recognizes the limiting nature of the binary use of woman. We serve and welcome anyone on the gender spectrum who identifies either always or some of the time as a woman. We also serve and welcome those who identify as nonbinary.

Intersectionality: StateraArts works through an intersectional lens for gender parity. We understand and acknowledge that systems of oppression and discrimination are interdependent and span all social categorizations such as race, class, gender, ability, religion, parental status, size, age and sexual orientation as they apply to a given individual or group. Addressing one spoke of systematic discrimination or disadvantage means holistically addressing them all.
