More from PJ About the Coronavirus
March 14, 2020

Though we resisted, the time has come to make the ultimate decision to protect the health and wellness of the Cameron community (and also the community at large) in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. Per the recommendation of our Bishop, Karen Oliveto, we are suspending in person worship for the remainder of the month of March, and April is yet to be determined. Our worship plan during this time is as follows:

  • March 15 - NO Worship
  • March 22 - Worship via Zoom (a zoom link will be made available)
  • March 29 - Worship via Zoom (a zoom link will be made available)

We began this Lenten season on Ash Wednesday with a commitment to a wilderness "Journey to This is Me; This is Us." Though we did not expect to go about it this way, we accept now that this is our path. During this time, Reverends Denise, Jeremy and I are inviting you to embrace this unusual and mysterious 2020 Lenten wilderness experience as a divine opportunity to pursue a more "perfect vision of self, family and community." Therefore we continue on our "Journey to This is Me; This is Us" in the following ways:
  • Solitude - Slow down. Inhale and Exhale. Listen for the divine. Reflect on your life's journey. Give thanks. Celebrate.
  • Pray - Share with and listen to your divine source of life: God. Creator. Jesus. Spirit or other names that align with or nurture your soul.
  • Presence - Be present. In the Moment. Breath in and give thanks for all of the goodness and wonder in your life. Carpe Diem - seize the day.
  • Wellness - Reflect on and rethink your habits of self love and care. Wash your hands regularly. Cleanse your environment. Practice absence and social distancing as needed. Give yourself permission to say No or Yes as needed. Forgive yourself. Forgive others. Review and practice our 10 recommendations for health and wellness.
  • Community - Be present with and spend time with your families and circles of love. Verbalize and express your love.
  • Generosity- Stewardship & generosity is an important and necessary spiritual practice.  This is how we support the ministries, community activities, facilities and staffing of our faith community  Even in our absence, the needs and responsibilities of our church continue, so please remember your financial contributions.  You can give by mailing, electronically on the church's website, or via automatic payments through your financial institution.
  • Dream - Open your hearts and minds to discover, remember, or renew dreams for your life, your family, the Cameron community and the communities at large. Dream without limits. Allow your spirit, your mind and your heart to SOAR!

Until we see each other again, look for E-blast, Facebook and website updates weekly. Also, thanks to Marian Straight and Emily Ward, an updated directory will be mailed to you. We ask that each person connect with the person below your name at least once or twice a week via phone call, email or cards. If you are the last person on the list, we ask that you connect with the first person on the list.

Let us hold each other close as we journey together in this 2020 Lenten Wilderness experience a more "perfect vision of "This is Me; This is Us!"

Infinite blessings...
