Dear <<First Name>>

August was a BIG month! It was the month when The Big Sing got even bigger with the addition of three Cadenza festivals in Timaru, Whanganui and Rotorua ahead of The Big Sing Finale in Dunedin. More than 1800 singers from 59 secondary school choirs took part in one of these four outstanding events.

As well, over 2,500 young primary school singers sang their hearts out in Kids Sing festivals in Auckland, Hastings and Whanganui, with more Kids Sings to come in October/November (details in next month’s eBreve).

In August we got the big news that NZCF has been offered a place in Creative New Zealand’s Tōtara Investment Programme, with secured funding for the next six years and an annual increase in the amount of funding.

August was also the month when choirs from around Canterbury ‘went big’ and took their singing to the streets of Christchurch.

And August was the month of big Earlybird registration numbers for the 12th World Symposium on Choral Music – people are literally flocking to join us in Auckland!

September will be big for NZCF Waikato/Bay of Plenty when over 170 singers will take part in four performances of Haydn’s Creation in Rotorua, Taupo, Thames and Hamilton under the direction of David Squire.

And our new Finance and Membership Manager, Jenni Prentice, has big shoes to fill as she takes over from Steffan Sinclair and Bea Selwood.

I hope you enjoy reading more about our big news!
