The coming months will be replete with policy planning in the fields of energy and climate change. We will be seeing the finalization of EU member states’ National Energy and Climate Plans, the elaboration of national Long-Term Strategies, discussions on the Commission’s 2050 Long-Term Climate Strategy, and NDC updates in the Paris process. In this context, it is high time to look at the intersection between policy planning and investment in the energy sector in order to distill major implications for business, financial institutions, energy consuming and supplying industries, and public policy.
In order to do so, Esade’s Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (EsadeGeo) is hosting – together with the Representation of the European Commission in Spain, KIC InnoEnergy, and Boston Consulting Group – the eighth edition of its Global Annual Energy Meeting. This meeting provides a forum where business leaders and policymakers can discuss how energy technologies, geopolitics, and regulation will affect business and society in the medium term.
