Annex Construction Update: June 2018

With the warm spring weather finally here, construction of the York Region Administrative Centre Annex has been ramping up. Since the last edition of Annex e-news, construction has been progressing well, and the project remains on track and on budget:
  • Construction has reached the eighth floor
  • Installation of precast panels for the exterior wall is underway
  • Masonry and wall framing is ongoing throughout the building
  • The pedestrian bridge is taking shape, and will connect to the Administrative Centre building later this year
By the end of September 2018, the building structure will be complete. This is a significant milestone that marks the end of major concrete pours. At that time, work will focus on completing site services installation, enclosing the building and continuing interior works.

Once complete in 2020, the York Region Administrative Centre Annex will provide residents with better access to community, health and court services in one central location.

Annex time-lapse video

We have put together a short time-lapse video to show how construction progressed from January 2017 to April 2018. This video is updated with recent footage for each newsletter so you can follow along on progress.
