Jeff Sutherland and Scott Downey took a specific approach to implementing Scrum designed to enable an experienced coach or Scrum Master to bootstrap new teams -- to position them to become a hyper-productive team (defined as having 400% improvement compared to their first Sprint).

At our company, we implemented many of these concepts but for much more pragmatic reasons. We will explore our journey down the road of shock therapy and the successes and challenges we have experienced.

Mark Shuler is passionate about working in complex adaptive systems. He focuses on the key coaching skills of teaching,mentoring, personal coaching and team facilitation from the technical, business and organizational perspectives.

Mark Shuler has a CSM and CSPO. He also has many ICAgile certifications, and has almost completed the requirements for the ICAgile Coaching Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE AC). Currently he is a Scrum Master and coach at General Information Services in Chapin, SC.
