Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome to your SpaceWatch Middle East Newsletter

Thanks for your feedback about changing the frequency of releasing our newsletter. As of 1 July 2016 we shall publish our newsletter on a bi-weekly schedule.

This week's news was dominated by NASA's Charles Bolden traveling in the Middle East, visiting Israel, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. This successful visit was marred by an ugly Op-Ed in Space News linking the terrible terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida, this past weekend with the NASA-UAE Space Agency cooperation agreement. SpaceWatch Middle East's John B. Sheldon wrote a rebuttal to this in Space News that can be read here.

This past week SpaceWatch Middle East also reported on the following:

  • Es’hailSat and Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority to cooperate on Earth observation satellites
  • UAE Space Agency and NASA partner up for space exploration
  • NASA’s Charlie Bolden: Bringing Humans to Mars and Humanity Together.

Lastly we introduced a new but occasional section in SpaceWatch Middle East called What we’ve been reading this week… . The idea is to share with our readers a selection of readings, videos, and related links that have captured our interest and that we have found to be particularly inspiring and insightful.

We should like to thank all of you that responded to our invitation to become an author for SpaceWatch Middle East. We are looking forward to your contributions, but for those who have not responded the invitation to contribute is still open.
