Brenda Navarro is a native San Diegan and has been with Pro Back Office (PBO) as an Accounting Manager for the past two years. She is currently earning her master’s degree in accounting, while raising two boys, and staying on top of all her other projects and plans. With 2016 quickly coming to an end, Brenda shared with us the most valuable things she has learned this year, her life outside of PBO, and her family’s meaningful holiday traditions.

This past November, Jennifer and her fellow Junior Achievement Executive Society Board members helped kick off Entrepreneurship Month. The board, consisting of local San Diego entrepreneurs, connected with middle school and high school students by sharing their entrepreneurial experiences, knowledge and passion.

The minimum salary threshold will increase on January 1, 2017, due to the CA minimum wage change.  This new threshold will be $43,680.  
 
Please keep in mind that for exempt employees, the salary threshold is just one part of the picture.  If you need assistance determining if staff should be exempt, please let me know I'll be happy to help.

Take Note

Beginning January 1, 2017, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be 53.5 cents per mile for business miles driven, down from 54 cents for 2016.
