A Cornelius moment
My new friend S. is like Cornelius! She pioneered an organisation that feeds the poor in Wollongong, is spiritually open, morally upright but doesn't yet know Jesus. But she has seen God at work in her life. God gave us a precious conversation recently over coffee that ended up with us sitting on the hillside reading Acts 10, praying together and 2 hours later laughing at what an unexpected scene it was. (She had been given a bible, was going to throw it out, but still had it in her car)
I never fail to be amazed at how people are often more open to the gospel than I expect and how God opens the doors and how powerful his Word is! Please pray with me for S. as she considers Jesus.
"Immersed" in Crows Nest
It was a joyful privilege to team teach with Gillian Davis (EdComm) and new friend Belinda Lakelin (Evangelism Consultant Baptist Union) at "Immersed", a day conference on evangelism at Northside Community Church Crows Nest in November. A life time of learning was condensed into a nourishing package of bible teaching and hands on workshops. May God be please to multiply our work to bear lasting fruit in that community. "The Story that Changes Everything (2 Cor 5); Evangelism Uncomplicated; Sharing Your Story; Engaging with Current Culture (Gill) Want to take us on the road for a test drive with your church next year?
'The Sweet Life' Austinmer Kate Bracks (Masterchef) doing her thing at Austinmer in August. Praise God for the unique opportunity and gifts she has and for the new connections and conversations in our community through this event.
"Day after day in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.' Acts 5:42
Motivated by Melbourne
I was blessed to be able to attend the Ridley Evangelistic Preaching conference in August, to sit in on a Masters subject with Mike Raiter and to give some input on preaching to women. It was amazing to meet with about 30 keen women after the conference who wanted to work hard at being better gospel communicators in their various contexts.
Geneva Push webinar
So you are a church planting wife and you find evangelism scary.... How do you lead the way? It was great to talk mission-mindedness with Cathie Heard from Geneva Push in a webinar in September http://genevapush.com

'Crazy Busy' in Ulladulla
Inspired by the topic I managed to sneak in a day off before speaking last weekend in Ulladulla on "Crazy Busy" (Luke 10). The perks!
Unbeknown to me, God had lined up a re connection with a girl I hadn't seen for years who had attended "Simply Christianity" course a while back in Austinmer - not yet a Christian but a wonderful God-given time to talk with her about her journey towards faith in Jesus. Please pray for E.
.... and speaking of crazy busy - please pray for
November is an unusually huge month and I would really value your prayers for good preparation, stamina and clear hearted preaching at three gospel events coming up back to back next week. Springwood on Thursday night, Manly on Friday night and Wattle Grove on Saturday. Tis the season...
to everyone who covers this ministry in prayer and to those you give generously to allow me to keep doing the work of an evangelist. I am honoured by your support and so grateful to God for your faithful partnership.
