CoNectar will be Apoidea Apiary's new storefront!  CoNectar's website is now live and the space will open Summer of 2022!  We are currently designing and renovating a historic 1880s general store at 411 Grant Avenue in Millvale, Pennsylvania. The Nectar Bar will serve crafted drinks and small tasting plates to compliment the unique flavors of the honey and heighten awareness of how honey connects our human world to the cycles and systems of the natural world!
"The Holly and The Bees"
Guided Virtual Taste Experience Box
As the inaugural edition of CoNectar's Guided Taste Experience series, our Winter 2021 Box offers a unique opportunity to explore the Holly (genus Ilex), from folkloric history to the deep ecological connections between the honey bee (Apis mellifera) and native bees.  This limited edition box features a signed print on 70% agave paper of an inking of American Holly (Ilex opaca) done by Christina Joy Neumann.   Link
Winter Spark Tea Pairing Box
Apoidea's newest seasonal infusion is "Winter Spark," a warming gingerbread-spice blended into dark knotweed honey.  This infusion is similar to our infamous Santa Spank but it is not as intensely hot.  This honey pairs amazingly well with Yaupon Holly Tea from Tupelo Honey Teas, which is included in this box.  The combination makes for uniquely festive Hot Toddys!  Link

RSVP HERE
While we've suspended our indoor holiday event due to Covid-19 precaution, you can still come to our back porch for a socially-distant pop-up shop.  If it's warm and dry enough, we'll be outdoor for this event as well.  This year, we're featuring our handmade USDA certified organic beeswax candles, in addition to raw honey and our signature infusions!  You may email any specific honey requests for pick-up that day, as well.  Please RSVP at the link above to send honey requests.
Burgh Honey Love
Sending loads of appreciation to all the local Pittsburgh shops who are supplying our honey this holiday season! Purchasing our honey at these locations supports two local businesses!  Love Pittsburgh, Farmer's Daughter Flowers, Una Biologicals, Farmer x Baker, De Fer Coffee, City Grows, Tupelo Honey Teas, Gather and Olive & Marlowe. 100% of the honey we bottle is produced by our own hives, all located within 6 miles of downtown Pittsburgh, and is Certified Naturally Grown
Bee Gold: Honey As Superfood
"Honey bees know a lot about honey, and humans are starting to catch up. Scientists are now looking at how the chemicals in honey affect bee health. From pesticide detox to increased longevity, the benefits of the sweet stuff go well beyond simply nourishing the hardworking insects in the hive."  Article Link
